Tense Lens does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.
Tense Lens for YouTube (Chrome extension)
- The extension runs only on
youtube.compages. - To show tenses, it downloads the captions of the video you are watching directly from YouTube, in your browser, the same way the YouTube player does.
- The captions are analyzed locally in your browser. They are not sent to the developer or to any other server.
- The extension does not read your browsing history, your YouTube account data, or anything outside the video page.
- It stores nothing on your device beyond the current page session and uses no cookies of its own.
- It does not load or run code from remote servers; all of its code ships inside the extension package.
tense-lens.com (website)
- When you open a video on the website, the video ID is sent to the website’s server function only to fetch that video’s captions. The ID is not logged or stored by the website.
- The website remembers analyzed captions in your own browser’s local storage, so a video opens faster next time. You can clear it at any time by clearing site data.
- Videos are played through YouTube’s embedded player, which is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
- The site is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security and operations.
